Htc Desire Dual Sim Review

Although the HTC Desire 601 Dual SIM is one of the most stylish smartphones on the market, it is simply too expensive for the features offered, and also does not provide innovative performance. One could easily opt for a much faster and better equipped smartphone in the same price range.

HTC has produced some of the most beautiful smartphones and recently updated its Desire smartphone line. With features such as BoomSound speakers, dual SIM capability and its own Sense user interface, the company is trying to make the right notes. But it does not affect anywhere.

The HTC Desire 601 Dual SIM runs on Android 4.2 with Sense 5 user interface and is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor with 1 GB of RAM. It has an internal memory of 4 GB, which is much smaller, since the update of pre-installed applications occupies half. Although there is a microSD card slot to expand it further. Other features include a 4.5-inch display with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels, a 5 MP rear camera, a VGA front camera, dual SIM capability, Wi-Fi, 3G and a 2100 mAh battery. The specifications of the Desire 601 Dual SIM sound decent, but at a price of around Rs.24,000 is too expensive.

Design and construction

HTC has always done its best to design its smartphones. The Desire 601 Dual SIM exudes a one-body look, but the back stands out, showing the two microSIM slots, the 2100 mAh battery and the microSD card slot.

The 4.5-inch screen is sharp and has a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels. The colors are vibrant and the screen offers a decent brightness in sunlight, although it is not the best we have ever seen. A 720p screen was quite decisive here, given the price of the smartphone. HTC used only two capacitive buttons under the screen (back and home) and inserted an HTC logo between the buttons. There are two speakers (at the top and bottom of the screen) equipped with HTC’s patented BoomSound technology, which we have already seen on HTC One devices. There is a front camera and a set of sensors, as well as the upper speaker. On the upper edge there is the power button and the 3.5mm audio jack, on the right edge there are the volume controls, and at the bottom there is the microUSB connector.

The back panel is made of soft plastic, which, fortunately, does not shine and therefore provides a better grip. On the back there is the 5MP camera with LED flash, which surprised us because the Desire 501 Dual SIM, lower and affordable, has an 8MP camera sensor. Under the back panel there are two micro SIM card slots, a microSD card slot and the 2100 mAh battery.
